Welcome!
No, we're not a 'real' brewery, if by 'brewery' you mean some
commercial endeavor pumping out stuff (some great, some good, some not so good,
some swill or worse) measured in barrels. Nope, we're just home brewing and
sharing the fruits of our labor with friends and family. We started brewing in November, 1999 (Thanksgiving day we started our first E.S.B.) and got our first taste on New Years Day, 2000. Quite a tasty brew, and a hobby was born. As cooking is another of Joe's hobbies, he looks at it as one more thing to enjoy in the kitchen even if kids are present! With the addition of kegging equipment to the setup, we're having more fun and scrubbing far fewer bottles! The cost of a used corney keg (» $30.00 US) is less than the worth of the time and effort involved in bottling (don't forget cleaning and sanitizing) of even one 5-gallon batch. So herein lies the notes of batches made, along with commentary and ramblings of Joe and others regarding brewing and brewpubs and whatever. P.S. On September 4th, 2000, we won our first award!
